| Abstract | Here we present raw temperatures from Underwater Temperature Recorders (UTRs) located at a depth of 7m off Plettenberg Bay, South Africa (-34.0490°S 23.3792°E), along the south coast of Southern Africa, between 03 November 1993 and 05 March 1994. At selected sites around Southern Africa, UTRs have been used to obtain long-term records of bottom temperature in the nearshore environment, at depths ranging from 2m to 34m. Note that for some deployments, two UTRs were deployed to simultaneously record bottom temperatures. |
| Methods | The raw data was collected using Underwater Temperature Recorder(s) (UTR) that was configured to sample every 60 minutes. The subsurface-mounted, Underwater Temperature Recorder(s) (UTR) was deployed at a depth of 7m off Plettenberg Bay, South Africa (-34.0490°S; 23.3792°E), along the south coast of Southern Africa. The instrument measured hourly temperature readings between 03 November 1993 and 05 March 1994. |
