| Abstract | Here we present processed hourly subsurface temperatures from Underwater Temperature Recorders (UTRs) located at a depth of 10m off Tsitsikamma (-34.0228°S 23.8997°E), along the south coast of South Africa, between 13 June 2007 and 11 March 2008. At selected sites around Southern Africa, UTRs have been used to obtain long-term records of bottom temperature in the nearshore environment, at depths ranging from 2m to 34m. |
| Methods | A subsurface-mounted, Underwater Temperature Recorder (UTR) was deployed at a depth of 10m off Tsitsikamma (34.0228°S; 23.8997°E), along the south coast of South Africa. The instrument measured hourly temperature readings between 13 June 2007 13h00 and 11 March 2008 12h00. |
