| Abstract | Here we present raw temperatures from Underwater Temperature Recorders (UTRs) located at a depth of 5m off Mangolds Pool, South Africa (34.0487°S; 25.5867°E), along the south coast of Southern Africa, between 27 July 2001 and 1 November 2001. Note that the data that falls outside of these dates is not from the deployment. At selected sites around Southern Africa, UTRs have been used to obtain long-term records of bottom temperature in the nearshore environment, at depths ranging from 2m to 34m. Note that for some deployments, two UTRs were deployed to simultaneously record bottom temperatures. |
| Methods | The raw data was collected using Underwater Temperature Recorder(s) (UTR) that was configured to sample every 60 minutes. The subsurface-mounted UTR was deployed at a depth of 5m off Mangolds Pool, South Africa (-34.0487°S; 25.5867°E), along the south coast of Southern Africa. The instrument measured hourly temperature readings between 27 July 2001 and 1 November 2001. |
