| Abstract | Here we present processed hourly subsurface temperatures from Underwater Temperature Recorders (UTRs) located at a depth of 18.1m off Pondoland (31.2930°S 30.0168°E), along the east coast of Southern Africa, between 25 July 2013 and 02 July 2014. At selected sites around Southern Africa, UTRs have been used to obtain long-term records of bottom temperature in the nearshore environment, at depths ranging from 2m to 34m. Note that for some deployments, two UTRs were deployed to simultaneously record bottom temperatures. |
| Methods | A subsurface-mounted, Underwater Temperature Recorder (UTR) was deployed at a depth of 18.1m off Pondoland (31.2930°S; 30.0168°E), along the east coast of Southern Africa. The instrument(s) measured hourly temperature(s) readings between 25 July 2013 09h00 and 02 July 2014 10h00. |
