| Abstract | Here we present raw temperatures from Southern Africa, Underwater Temperature Recorders (UTRs) located at a depth of 20m off Bassas da India (21.4385°S 39.6707°E), along the east coast of Southern Africa, between 15 August 2003 and 15 September 2007. At selected sites around UTRs have been used to obtain long-term records of bottom temperature in the nearshore environment, at depths ranging from 2m to 34m. Note that for some deployments, two UTRs were deployed to simultaneously record bottom temperatures, and that the data that falls outside of these dates are not from the deployment. |
| Methods | The raw data was collected using a UTR that was configured to sample every 60 minutes. A subsurface-mounted, UTR was deployed at a depth of 20m off Bassas da India (21.4385°S; 39.6707°E), along the east coast of Southern Africa. The instrument(s) measured hourly temperature(s) readings between 15 August 2003 and 15 September 2007. |
