| Abstract | This is raw Surface Photosynthetically Active Radiation (SPAR) data from the Mooring Cruise on the Algoa Voyage 199 from 29 June - 3 July, 2013. The area covered includes Slangkop, off of Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa to Port Edward, south of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. |
| Methods | Raw data in their original format, as received from the QSR-2000 Hemispherical Quantum Scalar Reference Sensor by Biospherical Instruments Inc. This sensor is designed for measuring total incident Surface Photosynthetically Active Radiation (SPAR) (400-700 nm) from the sun and sky. SPAR sensors are usually mounted on a vessel’s mast and the data can be used as a surface reference for underwater profiling PAR sensors. |
